I haven't had to use it yet however, I was replacing a broken winch cable. I needed to cut off the steel end clamp and found it quite difficult to insert the rope into the hole of a PTO winch. After a number of attempts I needed to very tightly wrap the end (10cm) of the rope in electric tap in order to be able to insert it into the winch. If you have a small cable hole you may find this near impossible. However, I am now very happy and looking forward to heading back out bush with a working winch.

I have managed to install the winch without assistance since it ain't that heavy to carry. They say the bull-bar needs to be removed to install the winch, but that would require additional assistance and lots of time. Managed to slip the winch in-place and securing it one bolt at a time until all 4 bolts held the winch into place. Then removed the 2 lower bolts to install the spacer and fair-lead than install the 2 bolts. Align the winch to be level then tighten.
