All the way from Australia we are now happy to announce that we can not only offer you directly from the 2500mm x 2500mm ARB awning but a CVC designed gutter mounted fitting kit too. We listened to all the feedback before we designed our own fitting kit that makes sure the awning doesn’t catch the side door of the van and keeps the awning as close to the Westfalia pop top as we could without lifting it being a problem. As our fixing kit is gutter mounted, fixed hightop roof vans that have the later gutter and who’s gutters are clear of fibreglass and sealant can use our kit without having to drill into the side of their pride and joy. Tin top vans can also fit the ARB awning without the need of a bulky roof rack too. We listened to your feedback and we have now developed a 3rd fitting method for high top vans that have their gutters filled with fibreglass or sealant.
1 Tin Top, Pop Up & Highroof Roof (not Air-cooled) – This option is for your standard T25 van that uses the later gutters. Early air-cooled vans and early diesel vans have an early gutter that is wider and a different profile. If your van has the later gutter and is clear of sealant and fibreglass from any added lift up or fixed high top roof then this is the kit for you. It fits tin top vans and Westfalia pop top roofs perfectly for example as the gutters for those remain free of anything fouling the gutters when the roof is down. If there is anything filling the gutter then this kit will not work correctly on your van.

2 Westfalia High Top Roof & Air-Cooled Pop Top – This option is for vans using the early gutter that is wider than the later vans. There is one exception though.. Westfalia hightop vans use the earlier gutter type, even if they are the model that should have a later gutter that run right up to the 1990s. If you have an air cooled van, an early diesel van or any Westfalia hightop van then this kit is for you.
3 High Roof Where The Gutter Is Full – This option is for all of you hightop van owners or some of the pop top owners that have the roof gutter full of fibreglass or sealant and makes fitting our no drill gutter mounting brackets impossible. This kit does require some drilling to fix the aluminium rail to the vans roof. Once the rail is fitted to the van you simply use the supplied T slot inserts and aluminium awning backing plates to fix the awning directly to the rail. To fix the rail to the roof where there is insulation fitted we recommend using the riv-nuts supplied and use the correct riv-nut tool that we can supply HERE as an extra purchase, incase you don’t already own one of these amazing tools. Incase you have never heard of riv-nuts before, they are a simple clever thing that allow you to get a threaded fixing into sheet material without having to put a nut on the back of a bolt. They look super tidy once installed and you will thank us for introducing you to them for sure.

We can also hook you up with add on rooms with or without a built in floor and add on side wind breaks. We got fed up with all of the plastic caravan stuff that is currently available for our vans and offer something more deserving.
Shade cover manufactured from 300gsm PU coated poly/cotton ripstop canvas to ensure that the awning is both waterproof and UV protected. Self standing awning takes 30 seconds to deploy. Awning is secured in a heavy duty nylon reinforced PVC bag. Mounts easily to the side of most roof racks or roof bars as well as our custom made gutter mount fitting kit. The Awning height is adjustable with telescopic legs.
Our new updated fitting brackets will now work with Westfalia high top vans and hightop Auto Sleeper vans, so please select that option from the drop down menu if required.

Fitting tip.. When fitting your awning for the first time make sure you fit the brackets in the most upright position you can get. The part of the bracket that sits under the rain gutter needs to be as close to the vans bodywork as possible before you tighten the nut on the bracket. This ensures that the awning will sit in the correct position and not just be attached by hanging on the edge of the rain gutter. Do not over tighten the nut as this will damage the thread.
Fitting video below… We made this for you guys to make the fitment of your awning as easy as possible. The awning does need to be fitted to the brackets before fitting so please don’t email or call us before you have done this. Just offering the brackets up to the van and trying to fit them without the awning attached simply will not work!
Sensible usage.. Please do not leave your awning out and unattended if you are away from the vehicle. Weather conditions can be prone to chance, especially at altitude and in countries that you are visiting that you are not familiar with. You need to use your common sense here and if it is really windy, or gusts of wind are likely, you will risk damage to the awning or vehicle and we can not be held responsible for that.
Anyone Use An Arb Awning/sun Canopy?
Setting up solo is really simple, check out how we do it and the gear we use to compliment this set up…Our VW T25 Campervan Awning Rail is a single piece of aluminium rail which is discreet but smart, with shamferred ends to prevent your awning being snagged. Supplied as a self-fitting kit, it comes with everything needed to fit it! Any length available upon request.
At last, the perfect alternative to either clipping Figure of 8 to the gutter or using pole and clamp with the risk of it coming off and scratching your van. This rail can be hidden away undermost pop top roofs. This is proving to be very popular with many of my customers.This rail is a single piece of aluminium rail which is discreet and smart looking with chamfered ends to stop your awning being snagged. It is also in another league to some other options you may see which come in two sections or worse still which are just a J shaped piece of metal relying solely on getting the right tension on the Figure of 8 sections (no advantage over your existing gutter). Not only are they charging not much less for a completely unfinished rough, square ended rail, the Figure of 8s will come un-clipped on those other railsif it gets a bit windy… Not a problem with a Camper Essentials Rail as the beading on a sun canopy can be fed straight in, as can an awning if you don’t want to drive away or if intending to drive away, simply use the Kador Bead and Figure of 8 for the ultimate attachment that won’t come off even in stronger winds!
This rail is a far better option than messing around with suction cups and metal rods, clamp and pole systems or any other method with the risk of it blowing off and damaging your van or messing around with ropes and tying your awning over the top of your van and risking the ropes rubbing and scuffing your paintwork. Here you have the perfect solution to simple and secure attachment of sun canopies and driveaway awnings.
